The new GPS smartwatch features on-device storage for up to 500 songs. You can load it up with your favorite tunes, then pair it with a set of compatible Bluetooth headphones (sold separately), to jam out as you work out without having to carry your smartphone.
Music lovers in the market for a new smartwatch might want to check out the latest from Garmin.
The company just launched a new GPS smartwatch called the vívoactive 3 Music, which features on-device storage for up to 500 songs. You can transfer music from your computer to the watch, or load it up with your favorite offline playlists from select music streaming services like iHeartRadio.
Once you do that, just pair it with a set of compatible Bluetooth headphones (which you’ll need to purchase separately) to jam out as you work out without having to bring your smartphone.
“Music can be a huge motivating component of any workout or activity, and we’re excited to give our customers the ability to ditch their phones and listen to their favorite songs right from their wrist,” Garmin Vice President of global consumer sales Dan Bartel said in a statement.
Besides that, Vívoactive 3 Music offers all the same fitness and smart connectivity features you’ll find on the Vívoactive 3. That includes a built-in GPS, wrist-based heart rate monitoring, and support for contactless payments using Garmin Pay. With Garmin Pay, you can leave your wallet at home or in the car, and pay for things at near-field communication-enabled point-of-sale retail locations using a linked credit or debit card account.
Vívoactive 3 Music is safe to wear swimming or in the shower, and comes pre-loaded with more than 15 “GPS and indoor sports apps” including yoga, running, swimming, and strength training. It features an always-on display, which Garmin said is “easy to read — even in direct sunlight.” The battery will last up to seven days in smartwatch mode, or a measly 5 hours in GPS with music mode.
Vívoactive 3 Music is available now for $299.99. It comes with a black silicone band, and additional bands are available separately for $29.99.
The Vívoactive 3 earned an “excellent” rating in PCMag’s review. We called it “one of the most full-featured fitness trackers with smartwatch functionality you can get.” Stay tuned for PCMag’s full review of the Vívoactive 3 Music.
